Aluminum
Aluminum is made from dirt, but of course it is a long process to get to the finished product! No wonder it is the Earth’s most plentiful metal. It is light weight and strong which makes it easy to work with and recycle. Aluminum is a versatile material that can be found in soda cans as well as cars and airplanes.
Aluminum is made in a variety of types called “alloys.” The most used are mill finish types 3003 (part of the three series and is best used in a humid environment) and 5052 (part of the five series and is best used in an electrical environment).
Some uses include awnings, furniture, outdoor signage, mailboxes, fan blades and roofing materials, just to name a few.
