About Erlin Steel
After a quarter of a century in the steel business, Jim Formont decided to start his own company. With the help of his sons, Jimmy and Andrew, and his future son-in-law Yahya, he began Erlin of Long Island in 1994.
Erlin Steel, as we our commonly known, began as a family owned and operated company and remains the same today. We do not just say it, we live it. Jim steers the sales operations, Jimmy runs the finances, Andrew and Yahya oversee logistics, and Suzanne (Jim’s daughter) is the communications/sales director. Susan (Jim’s wife) and Liz (Jim’s daughter) also help on a part-time basis. We are just waiting for the next generation to be old enough to get their working papers!
Having cultivated a family atmosphere at Erlin Steel, we consider our staff as an extension of our family. Lisa and Mary lead our sales team. Denise is the guiding force of our office management. Anjelo, Angel and Matt keep the steel flowing to our customers.
And now, more than a quarter of a century later, and with the help of many talented salespeople, office employees, truck drivers, and warehouse workers Erlin Steel has become a leader in the steel supply industry. We know the value of hard work and we value the relationships we have established along the way. We stand by our word and we stand by our customers.
We found it a challenge to define ourselves. Our friend and longtime business associate, Dave Bloom, gave us a heartfelt review. We used his Facebook post to write this page.
Many companies call themselves “family owned and operated” but this company truly fits the bill. Headed by Jim and his sons Jim and Andrew, Erlin Steel has been part of the Pine Aire family for over 25 years!
This company is extremely well run and their consistency through the years has given them a long-standing reputation for delivering what they promise; quality steel, competitive pricing and most importantly…world class service!
We know how great their customer service is because we are also a customer of theirs! Erlin Steel and Pine Aire continue to be a relationship based on trust as both of our companies have grown together and continue to support each other.
Having relationships of mutual respect really makes things go smoothly and gives a greater sense of satisfaction and fulfillment as we are not only repairing trucks but participating in the success of another company.
Thank You and wishes of continued success to our good friends at Erlin Steel!
